Based from a cyclist-friendly hotel in the heart of Girona, each day features a carefully curated guided ride showcasing a different side of the region. Explore the medieval villages and quiet gravel roads of the Empordà, discover the Mediterranean coastline of the Costa Brava and ride through the forests, hills and hidden tracks that surround Girona.

Unlike a point-to-point expedition, every ride begins and ends in Girona, allowing guests to travel light and enjoy the city's renowned cycling cafés, restaurants and atmosphere each afternoon and evening. Day 1 — Welcome to Girona

Arrive in Girona, settle into your cyclist-friendly hotel and assemble your bike. After a relaxed welcome briefing and optional shakeout ride through the surrounding countryside, enjoy your first evening exploring the cafés, restaurants and atmosphere that have made Girona one of the world's great cycling destinations.

Day 2 — Medieval Villages & The Empordà

The first full day on the bike explores the quiet gravel roads, rolling farmland and medieval villages of the Empordà. Ride through a landscape shaped by centuries of Catalan history, linking together hidden tracks, quiet country lanes and welcoming local cafés before returning to Girona for the afternoon.

Day 3 — Costa Brava Gravel

Head east towards the Mediterranean coast, following some of Girona's most scenic gravel routes through forests and open countryside. Arriving at the Costa Brava, enjoy spectacular sea views, hidden coves and turquoise waters before returning inland. For those who wish, there's even the opportunity for a refreshing swim before heading back to Girona.

Day 4 — Forests, Valleys & Classic Girona Gravel

Discover the flowing gravel roads, forests and hidden valleys that have helped make Girona famous among gravel riders worldwide. Following sections used by events such as The Traka, the route links together pristine gravel tracks, quiet woodland roads and spectacular countryside, with optional extensions available for stronger riders.

After the ride, we'll assist with bike packing, rental returns and any final preparations for departure.

Day 5 — Departure

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in Girona before packing bikes and preparing for onward travel. Depart with unforgettable memories of medieval villages, Mediterranean coastline, world-class gravel roads and the unique cycling culture that has made Girona one of Europe's premier cycling destinations.

Girona Gravel Explore is based from a carefully selected 4★ cyclist-friendly hotel in the heart of Girona's historic centre, allowing riders to enjoy world-class gravel riding without the complexity of changing accommodation each day.

Pricing is based on twin-share accommodation. Solo travellers are welcome and, where possible, we can help match riders with another participant of the same gender. Riders who prefer their own room can request single occupancy accommodation, subject to hotel availability and an additional supplement.

A modern gravel bike with 40–50 mm tyres is recommended, although hardtail mountain bikes are also suitable. Bike rental can be arranged through trusted local partners and, if booked through BiciRadVelo, your bike can be delivered, fitted and ready at the hotel before arrival.

Daily routes have been designed to showcase the diversity of Girona's gravel riding, from medieval villages and rolling countryside to Mediterranean coastline, forests and sections inspired by iconic events such as The Traka. Distances and pace can be adapted where practical to suit the group.

Airport transfers, bike rental, GPS hire and additional services can all be arranged on request through our trusted local partners, allowing you to focus on riding while we take care of the logistics.
